Millionaires- Pop Rocks (feat Nightclub Fight Club)

Pop Rocks (feat Nightclub Fight Club)

Well boys and girls, the Millionaires are back with yet another wholesome track to impress your parents with.

“Pop Rocks” is a super sexual slow tempo rap track with dubstep wobbles thrown in. Despite me forever wanting to dislike the Millionaires, thier music is always somehow annoyingly catchy. The background has a jewelry box chime noise that I like mixed with the dubsteppy wobbles.

“Yah boy. You’re so sweet. You’re my type 2 diabetes. Put them sprinkles on my titties. Jawbreaker. Hard candies”

Mhm. Right. Anyway. As this song continues. Nightclub Fightclub comes in. I have never heard of them before this feature. But to my surprise they’re more on the screamo side? They give me a Breathe Carolina feel, because theyre like screamo rap. Very random to be featured on a Millionaires track. Am I mad? Helllll no. May the party girls and gays who do listen to them as well be? POSSIBLY.

The chorus is of course the most sexual part. “I want in in my mouth. Like pop rocks”

This track is off of their mix tape Your Girl Does Party. Along with several other good features including Trina, Diamond & Kreayshawn, the mixt ape is pretty good. Although five tracks of the mix tape are interludes, which I always hated on rap albums. They’re pointless as fuck. But I digress.

You can pick up the mix tape for free from DatPiff here

Far East Movement- Dirty Bass (FULL ALBUM REVIEW)

Far East Movement

Electronic, Hip Hop, Rap, Pop, House, Dance

Dirty Bass- Album

I’ll start with the featured track above, then go in track by track order.

You ready?

Fly With U (feat Cassie)- I really enjoy the trend of female vocals mixed with rappers, aka everything Skylar Grey has done, and even back to songs like “Where’d You Go” by Fort Minor. REMEMBER DAT SHIT. Either way, Cassie brings in gorgeous-lulaby like vocals over the electro pop beat. The track has a nice upbeat tempo. One of my favorites.

Dirty Bass (feat Tyga)- Dirty Bass, as you would assume has a dirty bass line for the beat. After some brief researching, I learned the female vocals are by Kayla Kayla. I’m not sure who she is, but i plan to find out. Her vocals are similar to Dev’s with the sexual hot sound. I’m sure she has some good tracks of her own. I wonder why she wasn’t credited. Kind of rude if you ask me.

Where the Wild Things Are (feat. Crystal Kay)- Another girl I don’t know? Oddness. This is a much faster track. Up to house tempo. Very cool synths in this song. And who doesnt like a “Where the Wild Things Are” as a reference. CHILDHOOD PEOPLE. This Crystal Kay girl also has some good vocals. I will find out more of her life as well.

Turn Up The Love (feat Cover Drive)- UGHH COVER DRIVE. HOW I LOVE THEE. Far East Movement is DOING IT. in this song. Like the beat is SO hot in this track. It has like a synth trumpet sound. Its very very very. I see this becoming bigger in the club scene probably over most of the songs. The chorus by Cover Drive has a rather lengthy drop for the club scene though. That is a problem I have noticed a lot lately in house tracks. Too long of drops. Those only work if EVERYONE knows EVERY WORD to the songs, so they can sing along drunkenly.

Flossy (feat Kay)- Kay really needs to make a decision whether she wants her name to be “My Name Is Kay” or just “Kay”. I do enjoy her a lot though as well. This track goes back to a slower tempo. It has an early 2000’s r&b feel to it, which rubs me well. A xylophoney-synth chimes in the background of Kay’s chorus, giving the early 2000’s vibe even more. Cute track.

If I Die Tomorrow (feat Billy Kaulitz)- LOOK. OUR FIRST MALE FEATURE. (I aint mad). Although I personally prefer the mix over a female vocals with the many vocals of FEM, whoever this Billy sir is, he has a good range in his vocals, similar to Usher’s range.  This track is just alright in my opinion. Nothing crazy special. I see it being featured in American Eagle or something.

Ain’t Coming Down (feat. Sidney Samson & Matthew Koma)- As soon as a saw Sidney Samson on this, I nearly pooped. Sidney Samson produces a LOT of remixes I like. He is known for his like CAR ALARM style sounding drops. However, although this song has a deeper pitch for Samson, it still hits hard. The beat is actually used for the verses as opposed to having an only beat section, which Samson uses almost relgiously. (Think “Take Over Control” when I say beat only section.) Not sure who Matthew Koma is though either. Lot’s of random people on this album.

Candy (feat Pitbull)- Okay. So this track PISSES ME THE FUCK. OFF. Like SO BAD. Because first of all, Candy was released about a year ago, and it was MUCH different. It didn’t include that fuck nut of a dog, Pitbull. Like the song is totally different now. Pitbull is so extra in this song. “Come from the bottom I learned how to hustle”. More like I learned to say 3 different things in every song I sing ever. UGH. I do like the addition of the tribal drums, but that’s it. I HIGHLY recommend the original track WITHOUT PITBULL. Ugh. Here Pitbull

Show Me Love (feat. Alvaro)- This track starts off with a stabby key beat. I can’t even find who the female vocals are on this song, which is frustrating. She has a very heavenly voice. This is a very campy sounding beat. It is a cute song. Rather catchy hook. The fatter beat that comes in as the song progresses is a cool change from the rest of the song. But should I have to spend time looking up these features?

And whoever that girl is.

Little Bird- Once again Far East Movement, you aren’t giving credit, where it is so rightly deserved. CONSIDERING IT IS THE CHORUS OF THESE SONGS. “Little Bird” samples Feist’s “Metals”. This is the same concept as T-Pain’s “5’O Clock” which samples Lily Allen’s song as the chorus, and OH LOOK, IT SAYS SHES FEATURED ON THE SONG. WHEN HE ONLY SAMPLED IT. Oh well.

Basshead (feat YG)- Basshead is a very fun electro-hip hop beat, produced by Bangladesh. Lots of vocal skipping in this song, which is so often done by Nicki Minaj. It gives it a cool effect. This song is pretty good. Afterall, there IS nothing like a “hoochie with an 8o8”.

Lights Out (Go Crazy) [feat Natalia Kills]- Produced by Junior Caldera, a well known producer in the house realm, this song comes with a BANG out of no where. Of course I love Natalia Kills. “Boy you got a PHD? I got a masters in Boyology” Yes god. I love her. This song is a good banger.

Live Your Life (feat Justin Bieber)- I already reviewed this track before, but as a remix (same difference) here is the link to that. http://definitionmuzik.tumblr.com/post/18418726203/far-east-movement-live-my-life-feat-justin-bieber

Other tracks previous singles re-released including “Like a G6”, “Rocketteer”, and two remixes of “Live Your Life”

This is a HUGE album for Far East Movement. It really shows what they have to offer as far as their sound goes. All of the tracks have something good and catchy to offer. I truly enjoy pretty much every song on the album. I am rather frustrated with the lack of credit given in the track names though. A lot of these artists featured on these songs clearly aren’t big names, and I’m sure they would like to have their names on a more popular groups album. After all, Dev got her break as being featured on “Like a G6” with them. Now look at her, featured on a ton of singles, and on tour for her first full length album. These lesser known artists really need a chance. That being said, I REALLY LIKE how they did have so many lesser names. In fact every song is featuring someone. It reminds me of David Guetta’s first album. All of the artists featured on it were at the time or still are up and coming, and relatively unknown.

Overall, I’d give this album a 9 out of 10.

Pros:

Catchy songs

Tons of features by up and coming artists

Good variety of styles of music.

Cons:

Lack of credit given

Rework of “Candy”

AND THIS IS MY MUSIC.

DOESTH MINE EYE DECIEVE!?!?

MILLA JOVOVICH!?!?

AKA

ALICE.

VIOLET SONG.

LEELOO.

HNGGGGGGGG

I can’t. I totally have a straight crush on Milla Jovovich. She’s so hot, and kicks so much ass. So apparently, Miss Jovovich has done music before, but back in 1994. She released an alternative rock album. Hmm. FUN FACTS.

Anyways. The time is now, and Milla has released a dark wavey, electro-pop song. Her voice is very different than what I would expect, but in a good way. It has that “lap-dance” tempo. I might need to add this to my “Get It In” playlist.

“When I hold you in my arms, you wish that I was someone different…”

This is a very different sound for the world of pop today. Do I think it will do well in the main stream? Not likely. However, maybe in the underground goth, and raver scene. I could see it having potential. It has that darker vibe that I could see sexualizing raver kids bugged out selves.

And if people don’t like it?

Rabbit- #SOFUCKINFINE (feat Wale)

#SOFUCKINFINE (feat Wale)

INTRODUCINGGGGGGG

Rabbit!

Who is Rabbit you ask? Well straight off Rico Love’s label Division 1, Rabbit is ready to take on the rap world with her brand new EP #3to3.  From her page on the Division 1 page her bio says :

“Born and raised in D.C., Karen Tucker knew that she was one day destined to be a star. Her nickname, Rabbit, was given to her thanks to her agility and cunningness”

NOW ONTO THE TRACK!

The track shocked me initially with a heavy synth beat. I found this track on one of my blogs and downloaded it solely based off the name. I didn’t even know it was a girl singer until the verse stars because Wale starts off yelling random things in the beginning like “DIVISION 1”. All that fun stuffs. Then the chorus steps in. Now as I have said on here before. I am sucker for the “altered voice pitch” in rap songs. ie) How Low, Drop It Low etc. This one increases the pitch, and I of course love it.

“BET I MAKE YOU LOVE IT. YOU GON CUM SOON AS YOU TOUCH IT. YOU GON LOSE YO FUCKIN MIND. OOH THAT BITCH #SOFUCKINFINE”

Yes.

Then in comes Rabbit. And girllllll. Does she come in, and HARD. Like, Tommy Lee hard.

Lyrical highlights for me include:

“I BEBREAKIN THEY NECKS THEY CHECKIN MY BACK WHEN I PASS”

“I bring it back like TVO”

and of course:

“Mmmm I JUST ASKED IF HIS PENIS WAS HANSOME”

The best part about this post? Well her entire EP is FREE TO DOWNLOAD! Whoop Whoop!

Check it.

Medina- Forever (Jean Elan Remix)

Medina

House, Electro House, Pop

Forever (Jean Elan Remix)

It’s not too often that I find a remix of a song that I like so much, I prefer it over the original. This is one of those cases. The beat in this song rocks me like a mo fuggin hurricane.

For those who don’t know Medina, she is a Danish pop/r&b singer who has actually has five albums under her belt, two of which are English albums one which has yet to be released. She has has relatively good national success. “Forever” is the title track off her upcoming album Forever, which is due out June 1.

Medina has honestly never released anything that has truely rubbed me the right way. I don’t dislike her, but I don’t know the words to any of her songs if that is a clear way to describe it. “Forever” is the first case of this, but only because of this remix. Her soothing voice goes well over the hard hitting wobble of this track.

THEN.

JUST WHEN YOU THINK THINGS ARE COOL SHIT.

#boom. The beat stops, and in comes a Cascade style cheesey ass stabby key beat, that is equally fucking epic.

*DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN*

*DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM*

YOU AND ME FOREVERRRRRRRR

YOU YOU ME ME FOR EVEVEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Oh but you think you are into Cascada zone for good?

BACK TO WOBBLE BEAT.

Ugh.

Just. rage everywhere to this song.

Eva Simons- I Don’t Like You *UPDATE W/ MUSIC VIDEO*

Eva Simons

House, Electro-House, Pop

I Don’t Like You

Just so you guys know, this track is produce by none other than Zedd, as it becomes so very clearly once it gets to his signature bass grinding drop.

ANYWAYZ

Most of you will probably at least heard of Eva Simons and her super cray mohawk, from her 2010 smash hit “Take Over Control” which was produce by Afrojack. Remember that song? “I WANT YOU TO TAKE OVER CONTROL TAKE TAKE CONTROL” You may also know her by her lesser known debut “Silly Boy” which leaked over the internet as a Rihanna song featuring Lady GaGa. This was of course false.

CHECK OUT DAT HURRR. SHEEIITTTTTTTTT

Talk about a signature look. I think that hair is something that will help her. “Hey isnt this that girl with the crazy hair”. Almost like Paramore’s singer Hayley Williams’ signature bright ass orange hair.

This track is sure to take up on the club scene. When DJ’s see her name they will clearly think back to “Take Over Control” and its immense popularity, and want to at least give the song a chance.

The Zedd part of this song is what makes it for me. I love that damn beat they always do. It has a hot stutter-like sampling mashed in.

EH OH IIIIIIIIEYEYEYEYEYE LIKE LIKE LIKE YOUUUU UH UH WDUIWQDBFWEFIWEFDEW

Eva shows her vocal range in this song quite well. She can hit them high notes like woah, as Mya would put it.

HER VOICE IS LIKE WOAH.

MY ASS IS LIKE WOAH.

HER HAIR IS LIKE WOAH.

MY ASS IS LIKE WOAH.

WHERE DID WE GO WRONG? I DONT EVEN LIKE YOU
